Eligibility criteria:
Recipient must be a student who: (1) is enrolled full time (minimum 80% course load) in the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences in the first year of the Diploma in Agriculture program at the University of Manitoba; (2) has completed 18 credit hours; (3) has achieved a minimum grade point average of 3.0; (4) has achieved high standing in the course Skills for Agricultural Communication and Decision Making (currently numbered DAGR 0410); (5) has demonstrated exceptional leadership ability, both in the School of Agriculture and prior to being admitted to the Diploma program; and (6) enrolls full-time in the second term of the first year of the Diploma in Agriculture program in the School of Agriculture. Applicants for this award will be asked to submit a brief letter (maximum 250 words), outlining their leadership experiences. The award will be advertised by the School of Agriculture and the School will set the deadline date each year. The applications will be collected by the general office of the School of Agriculture and reviewed by the instructor of the Skills for Agriculture Communications and Decision Making course.
