Eligibility criteria:
Each year, beginning in 2026-2027, the available annual income from the fund will be used to offer one scholarship to a resident or fellow who:
(1) is enrolled full-time in the Post-Graduate Medical Program in Diagnostic and Molecular Pathology Residency Program, the Hematopathology Residency Program, or the Forensic Pathology Fellowship program in the Department of Pathology;
(2) is in good standing; and
(3) has accepted or received confirmation for presenting at a scientific meeting, attending an educational pathology course, or accepting an external pathology elective.
In order to demonstrate how they meet criterion (3), candidates must submit an application via email to the Program Assistant of the Department of Pathology consisting of:
(a) description of the educational activity as either (i) an abstract and meeting agenda of a scientific meeting, (ii) a course agenda for an educational pathology course, (iii) a letter of acceptance for an external pathology elective;
(b) the estimated cost of the activity;
(c) a brief cover letter (maximum 250 words) describing the goals and anticipated benefits of attending the activity; and
(d) a current curriculum vitae.
The selection committee will choose a candidate based on academic merit, scholarly contributions, and anticipated educational benefit of the proposed activity. Previous recipients cannot hold this award more than once within their program.
